Started the morning at Jackson-Triggs. Had their Sauvignon Blanc Proprietor’s Grand Reserve. If you like NZ SB buy this one. Grassy nose, great acid, with a balanced finish, and best of all only 12.5% alcohol.
The ’07 Cabernet Franc Rose was a standout. A lovely medium rose colour, with a great nose of smoke and leather. You can drink this wine with anything.
Esprit, the wine bottled and sold for the Olympics (a buck from every sale goes to the CDN Olympic team) is now all VQA.
The labelling is elegant but rather too understated. The black label is the Proprietor’s Reserve. The copper label is the Proprietor’s Grand Reserve. But if you’re in the Okanagan you can drink the Sun Rock Vineyard with some killer reds. I really enjoyed the meritage and merlot.
The Icewine, was, as expected, stunning.
Nk’Mip was of course a very polished tasting.
