Well I’m in the valley. Stopped by a brand new vineyard – Cassini – on my way to setting up camp.
A remarkable range of wines, including viognier (recommended) with a great bouquet of pears. None of the other whites turned my crank but they were all acceptable and value priced, around the $15. For a first time vintage, and young vines these wines probably are the Okanagan story in brief: amazingly good with a promise of much better to come.
That’s the Cassini meritage on the table up above. Had it with sausages and past for dinner. A nice wine.
As you can see below the campsite is gorgeous. Shame about the management though: no garbage bins anywhere on site.
