Okay so having Sis and BF for dinner with Dad, and none of us feeling ambitious. I bought some tenderloin steaks, and a bottle of Sordo 2001 Barolo.
I was tempted by the ’04, but as I was cellaring the bottle for about an hour and a half, I went with the lesser, but ready to drink now vintage.
Lighter than I expected, fresher, a very nice bottle. The palate was surprisingly delicate for a barolo.
A fine wine in every respect.
On the other hand, the garlic bread wasn’t the best idea with this wine. Oh well.
